Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Foundation is an independent grant making charity focused on enabling positive social change within the poorest and most disadvantaged communities in Hampshire, Portsmouth, Southampton and the Isle of Wight.
We help local communities to flourish by making charitable grants to effective community groups tackling poverty, disadvantage and inequality, when and where they can make a real difference. We inspire local philanthropists, funders and donors to make a lasting impact with their generosity through our endowment model and professional grant making approach.
We work as part of a national network of 47 UK Community Foundations that provide strategic charitable advice and grant making to positively impact local communities.
We specialise in identifying and supporting under-represented communities and groups, particularly communities in low socio-economic areas, and aim to tackle entrenched social problems.
Working closely with local and national donors and funders, we find the community organisations to fit individual funding priorities and make community funding grants to small community projects.
From supporting young people’s complex mental health needs, reducing the impact of loneliness and isolation on older people, or supporting families facing life with a child with disabilities, we are fearless in being a grant maker achieving real, positive, social change.
We are proud to administer a wide range of grants available in Hampshire and often work in partnership with local authorities and stakeholders to deliver Portsmouth grants, Southampton grants, Gosport grants, Havant grants, New Forest grants, and Isle of Wight Council grants that support grassroots community projects.
