HIWCF Trustee and Fund Holder Cllr Dan Putty JP awarded a cheque for £830 to Hatch Warren & Beggarwood Community Association last week for The Soup Kitchen Cafe to purchase a commercial dishwasher to help out volunteers.
The Café based in Beggarwood Park relies upon a core group of volunteers to serve in various capacities at events by shopping, planning, setting up and cleaning away. The Soup Kitchen lunch generally attracts 30 people so the washing up levels increase substantially and the grant will ease the pressure and workload of all volunteers and enable smoother service.
