Our community impact
At HIWCF, we believe that strategic local giving creates lasting change. We work in partnership with philanthropists, businesses, and donors to channel funding where it’s needed most- supporting grassroots organisations that are rooted in their communities and best placed to respond to the challenges people face every day.
Through one-off funding programmes and endowment donations, we empower small charities and community groups across Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton. These organisations often operate under the radar but have a deep understanding of the complex and often challenging lives of the people they support. Their agility and insight mean they can respond quickly and effectively to changing needs on the ground.

Our impact themes
Every grant we make is underpinned by one of six key Impact Themes, a framework we’ve designed to focus our grant making without placing unnecessary pressure on small organisations to produce excessive reporting. At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to tackling Poverty & Inequality – our golden thread that runs through all our funding.
Our impact model is mapped against national and international frameworks such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD), and the Thriving Places Index (TPI). While we take care of the technical mapping behind the scenes, we simply ask our grant applicants to align with at least one of our six Impact Themes when applying for funding.
Together with our funding partners and local communities, we are driving measurable, meaningful change across the region.
