Grants Available for Havant, Gosport, Fareham and Petersfield from Moneybarn Social Impact Fund

The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Community Foundation (HIWCF) is delighted to be able to offer a new round of funding from the ‘Moneybarn Social Impact Fund’. The fund has been set up to support local community and voluntary groups working in the Havant, Gosport, Fareham and Petersfield areas and will award grants of between £1,000 and £5,000 to projects and services aiming to alleviate the underlying problems that prevent social inclusion.

Moneybarn, a vehicle finance lender based in Petersfield in Hampshire, has partnered with HIWCF to provide grants to alleviate underlying social issues in areas where it is most needed. Projects that improve people’s financial capabilities, improve physical and or mental health and enhance positive family relationships are eligible. In addition, projects that address low educational attainment, provide opportunities to reduce inequality and those which increase access to employment will all be considered.

Shamus Hodgson, Managing Director of Moneybarn said, “The Moneybarn Social Impact Fund provides a fantastic opportunity for us to get involved in our local community, where many of our staff, suppliers and customers are based. This reflects our commitment as a responsible corporate organisation, putting the needs of our customers and communities at the heart of everything we do. Through our partnership with HIWCF we are able to identify and support those most in need in our local community.”

Under the previous round of Moneybarn funding, one of the organisations to receive financial support was the Kings Arms Youth Centre in Petersfield, who received a grant of £4,800 to support an anxiety management course for young people aged 11-18.  The course gave young people the tools to cope with the stresses of everyday life and participants were encouraged to understand the link between their thoughts, feelings and behaviours. The Centre uses a fun and engaging approach using games, craft activities and group learning to provide young people with a toolbox of strategies to help them become more resilient. As revealed by our research company, if you do not concern contraindications to the use of Viagra, and during the reception you follow all the instructions and do not exceed the optimal dosage for yourself, then your body will perfectly absorb the active substances, and there is no need to fear side effects. But you still need to know their list. Read more at

Grant Cornwell MBE, HIWCF Chief Executive said “HIWCF is delighted to be working with Moneybarn to improve opportunities for disadvantaged and vulnerable people in our society. The Foundation has a unique insight into the needs of local people and enables us to direct grant spending to benefit those in the most deprived communities. We know that there is a genuine need for this type of funding and we are delighted that Moneybarn has once again chosen to support those in need in local communities.”
