HIWCF has received a donation from Personal Best Educations’ National Citizenship Service (NCS) ‘Keep Doing Good Campaign’, helping those less fortunate in local communities.
Personal Best Education are the largest provider of NCS in Hampshire delivering the programme to nearly 10,000 young people across the county. Working closely with The National Citizenship Trust, they were able to create an adapted programme to fit in with government Covid-19 guidelines and ensure delivery was able to go ahead.
An emphasis was put around Keep Doing Good which focussed on young people going out in their local communities helping with the rebuilding after the first lockdown. Across the county Personal Best Education saw their young people volunteering and fundraising to help those in need. A new peace garden for staff was started at a local hospital, a river bed was tidied, and 100’s of thank you boxes were made for frontline staff.
To finish this Summer of NCS off, Personal Best Education put on a Finale event to challenge all who were involved to push themselves while raising as much money as possible for four charities with HIWCF being one of these beneficiaries. The challenge was to complete a collective 2020 miles either on site at The Mountbatten School or remotely. After a lot of blisters and hard work the amazing target was achieved and HIWCF is delighted to receive £445 from the Personal Best Team.

NCS is a government funded youth programme existing to engage, unite and empower 15-17 year olds. Typically the programme is 3 or 4 weeks long providing fantastic new opportunities, chances to increase your social network, and go out and make a difference in your community.
