The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Foundation (HIWCF) is delighted to announce that Linzi Lawrence has been appointed as Finance Manager effective from 4th October 2017. Linzi joins HIWCF from Toshiba Information Systems where she has been working as Financial Controller for the last 11 years, gaining extensive experience in budgeting and forecasting, together with managing the assets and liabilities of a large multinational company.

Linzi is a qualified accountant and will take responsibility for the financial management of the Foundation, including book keeping, preparation of management accounts and administering payroll, together with carrying out the duties of Company Secretary.

Linzi said “I am delighted to have joined the HIWCF team enabling me to become more involved in the charity sector. I have been working with supporting children and young people for the last 30 years and regularly help local and national charities including sponsoring two children overseas, so I am well aware of the current situation facing vulnerable children and adults. I look forward to supporting HIWCF in their mission to tackle deprivation and disadvantage across our local communities”.

Jakes Ferguson, Chief Executive of HIWCF commented: “We are extremely pleased to welcome Linzi to the team, she brings with her a wealth of experience and a new skill set to the Foundation and we look forward to working with her. We are the largest philanthropic grant-making organisation working exclusively across Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Southampton and Portsmouth, distributing grants of over £1.1 million last year, although in order to meet the needs of all those requesting help we still have a lot more work to do in raising funds in order to meet the demand.”

HIWCF continuously reviews grant-making to ensure that it focuses on the areas of greatest need. Last year HIWCF was able to target 70% of our £1.1m grant spend on the 50% most deprived wards in our area.
