HIWCF is delighted to announce that new funding is available to support the services and resources of local charities, community groups and voluntary organisations on the Isle of Wight. The aim of the grants is to help disadvantaged and vulnerable people who are experiencing difficult times, and applicants are urged to find out more information from www.hiwcf.com/grants
The three funds currently offering grants are as follows:
The Isle of Wight Community Fund is providing grants of up to £3,000 until 26th February 2021, to organisations addressing issues of deprivation on the Island. Grants will support a range of projects including outreach work addressing social isolation, befriending, mentoring and IT classes.
The John Swires 1989 Trust will award grants of up to £3,000 to organisations helping children and young people from disadvantaged and deprived backgrounds whose lives have been impacted by Covid-19, who have suffered domestic violence or homelessness, or who require support with education or mental health. Funds are available until 26th February 2021.
The Solent Supporting Employment Programme is offering grants of between £30,000 to £60,000 until 1st March 2021, for organisations with a proven record in employability, for local people marginalised by factors such as mental health, disability and age, while supporting single parents with childcare needs, people from BAME communities and those who are homeless to move closer towards, or into employment. The programme is part-funded by the European Social Fund and supported by Hampshire County Council, Portsmouth City Council, Southampton City Council and HIWCF donors.
