Working with Professional Advisers
As a charitable foundation working regularly with Professional Advisers, we know that you are deeply connected to local people and local communities, and that’s why we want to help you and your clients maximise their philanthropic potential.
We’re highly experienced team offering tailored and effective philanthropy and grant making services.
The community foundation model gives clients the opportunity to support many local charities and community groups they may not even be aware of, while still being closely involved in how their funds are used. HIWCF handles the governance and compliance, leaving clients free to focus on the impact they want to make. HIWCF provides a route for clients to start small and build up their giving, or to establish their own endowment fund. It’s an accessible, locally focused way to create lasting change.

Help your clients give with impact
Flexible giving
We can set up a forever fund (an Endowment Fund) or an immediate impact fund (known as a ‘Flow Through’ Fund) which can be tailored to suit any donor’s requirements. There are lots of alternative options too, including choosing to pool donor funding to support our flagship programme known as ‘Including Communities’.
Knowledge where it's needed
We have extensive knowledge of the local community sector in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight and are uniquely placed to provide guidance on the most effective local giving plan. We can work with your clients to develop a giving plan that matches the causes they most care about and ensure their donation reaches those most in need.
What donors can expect from us
- Genuine insight into the impact of their support through Seeing is Believing visits, where they can meet organisations, beneficiaries and staff at the heart of local communities.
- Regular updates through our newsletter and events
- Tailored reporting and Annual Reviews
Simple, cost-effective philanthropy
We take care of all the due diligence and grant management, as well as reporting to the Charity Commission and other compliance bodies. This means we offer a much simpler and more cost effective approach than setting up a new Charitable Trust or Foundation.
Why you can trust us
- We are a team of professional staff and Trustees, with significant experience in the charitable sector in our region
- We are one of 47 Community Foundations across the UK.
- Our Grants team works with community groups on their applications for grants, giving them advice and support throughout. Applications are carefully assessed to ensure grants are only made to groups which fulfil our stringent due diligence requirements – assuring that we are safeguarding donations.
- We work with our Investment Managers (currently CCLA and Sarasin) to ensure that year after year we build our grant giving portfolio and provide continuity of funding for our local communities.
